# How is daily interest calculated?

Once the Interest Program is activated, your daily interest is calculated using the following formulas:

Example 1: USD-Denominated Account
 For accounts in USD, the daily interest yield is calculated as:
 (Equity - Credit) * (Status Interest Rate) / 365 days = Daily Interest in Dollars

Since 1 Dollar = 1 Loyalty Point, the points earned daily are equivalent to the calculated dollar amount.

Example 2: JPY-Denominated Account
 For accounts in JPY, the daily interest yield calculation incorporates the exchange rate:
 (Equity - Credit) * (Status Interest Rate) * (JPY/USD Exchange Rate) / 365 days = Daily Interest in Dollars

As with USD accounts, 1 Dollar = 1 Loyalty Point.
